This 2004 ESP KH-2 Kirk Hammett Signature was crafted at the legendary ESP Kiso Custom Shop, Japan’s premier workshop for elite custom orders and artist models. The KH-2 faithfully carries the original features of the first series introduced in 1993, which makes it highly sought-after due to limited production and the “ESP Custom Guitars” headstock logo.
Every step, from wood selection to construction, was meticulously hand-crafted by ESP’s finest luthiers. The serial number starting with “K” identifies production at Kiso’s top-tier facility, reserved for the best custom shop instruments.

The Kiso factory in Japan produces only custom orders and high-end artist models. Instruments from this shop are considered the pinnacle of ESP craftsmanship, highly coveted by collectors and professional players, and they tend to increase in value over time.
Notes on KH-2 Changes Over the Years:
- From 2004, neck plate serial numbers were removed
- In 2010, the headstock back logo switched from Custom Shop to ESP Signature Series
- In 2012, a battery compartment was added
- In 2013, the ESP Signature Series circle logo on the headstock back was removed
