This is a 1999 Gibson ES-335 Dot in Cherry, built at the now-defunct Gibson Memphis plant. Renowned for excellent craftsmanship during this period, this guitar is a fine example of the model and is offered in outstanding condition for its age.
There are only minor signs of playwear and a light aged patina, with no chips or dings. The frets show some light wear but plenty of life remains.
The back of the neck is clean and unmarked, and overall it is a very well-kept instrument. Playability and setup are excellent, and it will not disappoint. Originally sold by us when new, it has been carefully maintained by its previous owners.
Specifications include a semi-hollow laminated maple body with solid maple center block, a one-piece mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, 24¾" scale length, 22 frets, and a 1 11/16" nut width.
Electronics are the classic Gibson pairing of dual ’57 Classic humbuckers wired with two volume and two tone controls and a three-way toggle switch, delivering the warm, articulate tones that define the ES-335—clear and open in the highs, with a rich midrange and singing sustain. Hardware includes a Tune-O-Matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece, and Grover Rotomatic tuners.
The Cherry nitrocellulose finish shows some attractive maple figuring under the lacquer, adding to its visual appeal.
Complete with its original brown Gibson hardshell case.
