1957 Miguel Rodriguez Senior (middle name is Beneyto) Classical Guitar made in Cordoba Spain and in excellent condition with no fret, fingerboard, or top wear and all original (except I had new plastic bushings pressed onto the tuner posts so I could string it up as the original bushings had mostly disintegrated when I bought it, and the pick guard plate was R&R-see repair summary below). This guitar has a great sound attributed to Miguel’s 7 fan brace design and a light weight of 3.176 lbs. The neck is straight and the action of the High and Low E strings at the 12th fret are 2.75mm and 3.0mm respectively. The bridge saddle was lowered to accommodate better action and is as low as possible. I have a second saddle shim that raises the action slightly. The nut is 51.56mm and the fretboard measured immediately in front of the nut is 51.25mm, the scale length is 656mm. The top is spruce, the fretboard is ebony, and straight grained Brazilian Rosewood is on the back and sides, bridge, and headstock face. Note the Rodriguez stamp to the right of the label inside the sound hole, and the Rodriguez stamp on the back side of the neck (Pics #3 , #4). I believe the beautiful carved design on the tuner plates are hand carved. I bought this guitar in 2012 because it looked like it was rarely used but needed repairs as mentioned above and below. I thought I would play it, but I’m 69 and only play mostly bluegrass, blues, and rock on steel stringed acoustic or electric guitars.

The guitar will be shipped in a HumiCase Metro Pro Fiberglass case to protect it and which has a 360 deg seal when closed. I will double box the guitar case to ensure the guitar is protected. I also have the original tweed case I can ship separately for the shipping and material costs (see pics). I use Boveda 49% Two-Way Humidity Packs which keeps the humidity at 49% inside the Humicase.

In 2024 I sent the guitar to Richard E. Brune in Wauconda Illinois for repairs as Richard is a world class repair expert and master luthier for classical's and flamenco’s. Richard is known for using the most minimal of materials for his repairs that would not affect the sound and not compromise the integrity of the repairs. Richard believes that Miguel Senior built this guitar and was made with Brazilian Rosewood. I also agree that Miguel Senior built it based on the minimal headstock contours that Miguel Senior used during his career. See the summary of repairs below which were all performed by Richard Brune.

Summary of repairs on the top:

-Removed and replaced the pick guard (plate) that had curled up and created 2 cracks that were repaired under both edges of the plate that ran from the bridge to the rosette. The new plate material will not curl up in the future.(see pic #9)

-Repaired 2 cracks on the top from the bridge to the bottom of the lower bout near both E strings. No cleats were used. (see pic #10)

Summary of repairs on the back:

-The back joint was reinforced with glue and no cleats were used.

-Repaired a 5” crack on the back originating from the lower bout that was 1-1/2” from the back joint on the bass side, and no cleats were used. (see Pic #11)
