And now for something completely different!
Here is a really amazing guitar from Sweden's Heikki Rousu. This is a an 11 string Alto guitar and I will explain to you what makes this guitar really special. The primary scale is 570 mm for the first 7 strings. The highest string is tuned to a G just like a lute. But here is what makes the guitar so different, the bass strings get progressively longer in scale as they go lower with the scale going from 570 on the first seven strings to 642,680, 720 and then 762 mm. This gives the low bass strings the correct tension and sound and you can play baroque lute tab right off the page in the correct key. If you are really serious about early music and don have a van to carry your therobo or baroque lute here is a great alternative. Craftsmanship is superb and the sound and tone are very traditional. This guitar has an arm rest and comes in a hiscox case.
