This guitar left the factory on 07-12-1987 and was showcased at NAMM 1988. With a J-series serial number, this Custom Shop model has been kept in immaculate condition for 38 years in the hands of a collector, maintained regularly, and now awaits its next owner.
Among all Jackson Custom Shop guitars worldwide, the details on this one are so extraordinary that it was chosen to be displayed at the 1988 NAMM show. Everything on the guitar is 100% original, preserved perfectly along with all original paperwork, manuals, and its original hard case.
The body is crafted from alder, with a neck-thru quartersawn maple neck and ebony fingerboard. It comes equipped with a J50b humbucker and J200 single active pickups, delivering the pure 1980s tone – in both sound and look, this guitar is iconic. It also features Kahler USA Tremolo Claw and Kahler USA Locking Nut, all factory-original parts.
The JE-1200 preamp circuit provides an active mid-boost of up to +6 dB at 650 Hz, offering versatile dynamic control over the mids. This unique circuit, which boosts the mids while gradually rolling off highs above 2 kHz, is also factory-original.
This guitar represents one of the most rare and collectible Jackson Custom Shop models – the kind that only a true Jackson enthusiast who knows the brand’s history would appreciate. Finding one in this condition today, all-original and so well-preserved, is nearly impossible. It has been kept in its case for decades, only taken out for maintenance, and is in virtually mint, near-new condition.
Comes with the original molded hard case, manuals, and documentation that were included when first purchased.
