Fro the record, this guitar hasn't been listed for nine months as shown. Nine months ago I had it listed for week or so before cancelling the listing. I decided to list again here on May 15th 2026.

This is the nicest, best sounding and playing vintage Fender Telecaster Custom that you're going to find!!! Privately owned! Bought from Mike's Guitars...

Up for sale is my 1983 Fender Telecaster Custom ‘62 vintage reissue model TL62B-70 in 100% original condition. An extremely early example of Fender Japan's Telecaster Custom (which wouldn't make its catalog debut until 1984). This Telecaster hails from the second quarter of 1983, barely a year after Fender Japan began production at the Fujigen factory. It represents collector status for the discerning connoisseur of fine quality vintage guitars. Check out the photos for written date stamp on the neck heel.

The pair of TL-Vintage single coil pickups offer a range of traditional Telecaster tonalities, distinct and vital at each position on the three-way pickup selector switch. The bridge has great mid-range detail and twang, while toggling towards the neck yields a broad, smooth sound with a woody chop. The neck pickup really sounds superb!!!! This Telecaster Custom weighs approx. 7lbs 15oz, setup with new 9.5-46 strings, low action, and plays effortlessly.

The three-tone Sunburst gloss finish is particularly rich, with a wide black band on the outside of the burst, framed by cream binding. There is a finish chip on the bass-side edge of the neck heel as shown. There's a light number of minor dings and finish scratches on the body as a whole, largely along the lower bout and body perimeter. The neck profile retains its amber gloss with some shallow nicks along the profile that have no impact on playability. This is a very clean guitar for being 43 years old. It's got just the right amount of vintage mojo.

Best of all, this guitar comes with its own 23 page color photo book, complete with all of the literature relating to this exact guitar, serial number A8027293. It’s a very detailed glossy paged historical reference guide with loads of quality color photographs of this exact guitar, including all of the specs for your records. You will not find another guitar with a personalized book like this anywhere.
This guitar is a highly coveted, rare early example of the glory years of fender made at the Fujigen factory in Japan. These are highly sought after and offer the best Fender workmanship since the Pre-CBS golden era. You will love this guitar. Feel free to ask questions if needed. Thanks!

The guitar will ship in a brand new after market telecaster hardshell case with TSA approved latches. (Fender Princeton amp shown in photo is not included).
