Genuine vintage 1977 Fender Jazz bass, with its hard factory case. Brilliant Sunburst with a beautiful Rosewood neck, with pearl block inlays. Very light for the era at exactly 8 lbs., 14.7 ounces without original chrome covers installed. Frets are excellent. Truss rod fully functional. Low action with xcellent tone. NO dead notes. No heel rise. No player issues. Electronics are solid and quiet. The bass does show checking, dings, small nicks, players wear. But no mods, no extra holes. The rare 4 ply pickguard has matching serial number sticker on the back.
Chrome covers show age and patina. None of the chrome tuners are bent. Fully functional. The case is in very good, clean condition. All latches, handle, hinges, in working order. Pots are dated 1377536. Volume pot has been replaced, warranty card is in case pocket The pickup bobbins appear to be replaced. They sound great, but can't confirm the make. Other than what's noted, the bass is totally original. . super great, light player from Fender CBS era.
Also there's an area in lower bout which looks like it has been filled in and repainted which previous owner never disclosed. He did offer a total refund but the bass felt and sounded so good ,I decided to just keep it.
