This is a time-capsule 1962 Gibson Les Paul Junior that has clearly been cherished. Weighing just 5.6 lbs, it’s one of the lightest Juniors you’ll ever come across. The original cherry red finish is still vibrant, not faded to brown like most — it genuinely looks only a few years old.
Everything is 100% original, including the P-90 pickup (measuring ~8.1k), tuners, wraparound tailpiece, wiring, and original faultless case. The guitar has no breaks, no touchups, and just a couple of minor nicks on top. The neck is a perfect ’60s profile — fast, slim, and resonant.
This guitar just had a full cleaning and setup:
- Fretboard cleaned and oiled, frets polished,
- Frets are dead level,
- Action is 5/64-4/64 with 0 buzz,
- Pickup and control cavities lined with copper tape. It is now dead quiet. Tape easily removed if you want the "authentic" hum back.
- Pots cleaned, more preventative than necessary.
- All nitro polished
- Neck is virtually unblemished
- Original tuning keys work fine, cleaned inside-out and lubed.
- Nut slots smoothed and lubed.
- New strings 10-46 D'Addario XLs
This one is listed to gauge interest. If you know what you’re looking at, you’ll understand why this piece is special. Not in a rush to sell. I'm enjoying playing it too much. It’s only available for the right price and the right buyer.
