Vintage Narrow-Spaced Gold Humbucker Covers – Rare Gibson Spec (’50s / ’60s)
This is a rare original vintage set of narrow pole spacing gold-plated humbucker covers, removed from early Gibson pickups. Unlike the typical 49.2–50 mm spacing found on PAFs and pre T-Tops, these feature an even tighter ≈46 mm pole spacing — a unique spec occasionally seen on certain Gibson Customs and ES-series guitars in the ’50s and ’60s.
Details:
- 100% original Gibson covers – not reissues or replicas
- Rare ≈46 mm pole spacing, different from standard PAF / pre T-Top spec
- Gold plating with natural patina, oxidation, and honest vintage wear
- Brass construction with the correct weight and feel from this era
- No warping or cracks — solder fully cleaned, structurally intact
- Excellent for restoration of a late-’50s / ’60s Custom, ES, or high-end vintage project
Historical Note:
Most Gibson humbucker covers from the PAF and pre T-Top years had standard 49.2 mm spacing. However, a select number of batches — especially gold-plated units for Customs and archtop models — used this rare narrow 46 mm spacing. These are seldom seen today and are highly desirable for accurate vintage restorations.
Original matched pairs like this are becoming increasingly hard to find. A perfect opportunity to complete your vintage Gibson build with the real deal.
