Baggs Element pickup system in a beautifully grained cherry sunburst high-gloss nitrocellulose finish with richly decorated Hummingbird tortoise pickguard and multi-ply cream bindings in excellent condition with Gibson luxury hardshell case and professional setup with 12-gauge Elixir strings.

This limited edition Gibson Hummingbird Quilt from 2014 continues the legacy of Gibson's iconic square shoulder acoustic line. The popular short-scale dreadnought is considered an absolute classic and was first introduced in 1960. Thanks to its unique design and large dynamic range with warm mids and powerful bass, it continues to inspire musicians around the world today.

Unlike the 1960s original, this custom version features a top and sides made from hand-selected quilted maple, which, with its exceptionally three-dimensional grain pattern beneath the seamlessly executed cherry sunburst high-gloss nitro finish, looks like an aerial view of the Sahara desert at sunset. At the same time, quilted maple is a tonewood that is noticeable for its richly dynamic, nuanced sound with plenty of crystalline overtones. Together with the fine-grained Sitka spruce top and scalloped X-bracing, this creates an exceptionally powerful sound with plenty of punch, immediately reminiscent of a Gibson SJ-200, and the square shoulder dreadnought body ensures beautiful projection. Individual notes are clearly differentiated and carry a dynamic range of timbres, making the guitar ideal for any kind of accompaniment, strumming, or picking!

Thanks to the L.R. Baggs Element pickup system, the guitar also impresses when amplified with a clear, authentic acoustic sound.

The bound rosewood fingerboard is decorated with elaborate parallelogram-shaped mother-of-pearl inlays, and the set-in mahogany neck with a 43.8mm TUSQ nut has a comfortable, medium-width rounded neck profile.

This Gibson Hummingbird Quilt is in excellent condition and technically flawless. Visually, there is only occasional fine superficial wear (see pictures). The frets are in top condition.
