Restored/Repaired Guitars

From time to time we getin damaged or defective guitars

-we fix 'em, test 'em and then sell 'em at

deep discount. !

How does this happen ????

The design of the modern 3x3 headstock shape puts stress on the weakest part of the guitar neck.  The string pull, thickness of neck and the hole drilled for the trussrod all contribute to a very weak spot on every single 3x3 guitar ever manufactured …Gibson owners, especially owners of vintage gear are all to familiar with the “typical Gibson broken headstock” –if you drop your guitar-weather it’s a $50 Jay Turser or a $10,000 custom shop Gibson-the odds are they will break at this weak point –no worries, most of the time its a very easy fix- repaired headstocks are not that uncommon-but-even a repaired headstock will break if you drop/knock down one of these guitars-its just how these beasties were designed.

Imports (like Epiphone) tend to break along the scarf joint.Fortunately,  most of these repairs are pretty straight forward and result in a structurally stable playable guitar with a scar-but priced accordingly.  Most import guitars have a scarf joint-either hidden under veneer or dark stain-this scarf joint is basically glued together pieces of wood-just like a repair-the glue (Tightbond) is stronger than the wood it holds together.

These guitars were damaged in transit to the retailer and were never sold-rather they were part of a large insurance claim. This particular guitar has a headstock repair-this is visable on the faceplate-but not really that noticible

This is a tremendous opportunity to get a brand new ,

unplayed Epiphone for a substantial discount

off of street price !!!!

-we will be adding 10-15 additional Epiphone rescues as they become available-if there is a model you want but don’t see-just ask, we probably have it !

The Gibson SG made its debut in 1961. In an interesting turn of events, this coincided with a hiatus in the production of the Les Paul, which had been a staple of Gibson’s lineup since its introduction nine years earlier.

The new SG design certainly turned heads with its radical body contours and distinctive “devil horns,” but Les didnt like it. This instrument would eventually be re-badged the SG (which stood for “solid guitar”) for the ’64 model year. The SG would go on to rock greatness, with vintage models (particularly the ’61) commanding lofty prices in today’s used market. But you don’t have to spend a fortune to own one of these legendary solidbody electric guitars.

The Iconic SG silhouette makes for instantly recognizable and eye-catching aesthetics

  • Mahogany body and neck provide a solid aural anchor of balanced, sonorous, and focused tones, teeming with blossoming harmonics
  • Laurel fingerboard imbues your sound with crystalline character and shimmering overtones, never sacrificing articulation for presence
  • SlimTaper C neck accommodates players of nearly any style with ease
  • 2 ProBucker pickups utilize Alnico II magnets for a ferociously flexible suite of sonic contouring
  • Double-horn design and the fretboard’s 12-in. radius ensure unfettered access to all 22 frets, from cowboy chords and lively licks to raucous riffs and scorching solos
  • Epiphone Deluxe Vintage Tuners, TOM bridge, and stopbar tailpiece mean rock-solid tuning, tones, and intonation
  • A hardshell case included to protect the instrument in shipping

This guitar suffered a cracked neck where the neck joins the body-the crack was caused in shipping and the guitar did not have ANY glue on the neck shelf-we injected it with tight bond and its a structurally sound, and very fun to play guitar ! The cracks in the horns are filled in, but could be made to look better-We leave that up to the new owner -these guitars sell for around $600-we have priced this one accordingly-its a teriffic buy, in fact we have two of these !

Someone is going to get a fantastic bargain on this one, as I am out of room and have to sell some guitars... I have tons of feedback, will answer all questions so bid with confidence.... Shipping is a flat rate of $75 and includes professional packing and insurance via UPS Ground.  SORRY...no international shipping. ... Check out our impeccable feedback rating and bid with confidence.
