This 1983 Fender Telecaster (officially renamed the Standard Telecaster this year—not to be confused with the later Made-in-Mexico Standard series) is a clean example from a transitional era in Fender’s history. The early to mid-1980s saw several changes in production and specs, making guitars from this period especially unique and collectible. This guitar comes with the original case as well.

Condition & Playability:
This guitar is in excellent cosmetic and functional condition. There is no noticeable damage or fret wear. It’s clean, well-kept, and all electronics are fully operational. It plays great and sounds just as you'd expect from a classic Tele—bright, snappy, and articulate. This is one of the cleanest guitars we've seen, even after 40 plus years of use!

History Note:
Originally introduced in 1950 as the Broadcaster, Fender renamed the model Telecaster in early 1951. It quickly became one of the most iconic electric guitars in history, helping to define the sound of modern music. Over the decades, the Telecaster has seen many variations, but its essential design and voice have remained timeless.

This 1983 model stands out as a piece of that legacy—solid, reliable, and resonant with Fender history.
