Pre-filter input stage that allows you to change the sound via rotary selector. 2 channels with classic British-style configuration. Shared tone shaping stage. Presence, bass, mids and treble.

Channel 1 features a tube-driven spring reverb and a gain range that shifts seamlessly from clean to light crunch. Significantly more gain is available on channel 2, which ranges from medium crunch to full-on overdrive, stopping just short of full saturation. Footswitching between channels also toggles between two master volume controls, allowing guitarists to balance the volume levels of clean and overdriven sounds. Footswitch control is also provided for the reverb and an external effects loop that is completely bypassed when disengaged for maximum signal integrity.

The Speakeasy's output stage combines oversized custom-wound transformers with pairs of EL34 and 6L6 tubes. A front-panel switch selects either EL34s for the warm, full-bodied, crisp sounds typical of British tube amplifiers, or 6L6s for a more transatlantic tone, while a second switch can be used to simultaneously select all four tubes.

Like other Hayden amplifiers, the Speakeasy gives guitarists the ability to pre-filter the input stage to match their guitar. Vintage single coils can be beefed up or tamed with overly aggressive humbuckers if necessary.
