This is a Tone Bender made in Italy with a hammered gray case!

The VOX Tone Bender was released in late 1966, based on the Sola Sound Tone Bender MK1.5, which was released in early 1966. In 1968, the model was updated with a black body and silver panels. The Arbiter's Fuzz Face was also based on the MK1.5, and thus has a similar circuit. While the Fuzz Face has a fat sound, the VOX Tone Bender offers sharp, clear highs. Its crisp attack, grainy distortion, and tight, firm low end create a sonic image that cuts through the intensity. Simply turning down the guitar volume knob allows for easy, crisp clean sound, giving you a wide range of sound control. Its sharp treble and ample mids and lows create a thick, powerful sound. This model is more of a medium-gain pedal, offering a rich, yet somewhat clean sound. It's becoming increasingly difficult to find a model with a good sound these days.
