Beautiful ES-175D, made in USA, played, maintained, loved and it shows.
Sorry I must do this, but a few bad apples make it necessary. Please note: This price is FIRM. I will not respond to trade offers, or negotiation of any kind. If you're local enough to come take a look, you're welcome, but that visit won't be a negotiation session. Also, I won't be taking this guitar anywhere so you can try it out (someone actually asked me that). Just be reasonable and all will work out!
Bought this beauty new in 1989, played it and treated it with kid gloves, inside home play & recording only, no gigging, no belt buckle marks, finish is really amazing for her age, and what a tone! This can jazz out and also rock. Look up the factory specs – the only change is I had a noteworthy luthier replace the original bridge with an adjustable roller bridge Bigsby vibrato tailpiece which works great. Original bridge included sealed in plastic, I do NOT have the original tailpiece. Note photo of bottom where it was installed-the marks you see are beautifully filled in, not hollow. I have no idea what is under the Bigsby - holes, glue - no idea. If you want to remove it, that's your option but don't ask me. FYI: YES you need to replace the strings, and do whatever usually accompanies that (set up/intonation).
Fantastic condition with very limited wear, any small white marks are simply dust. See the fret photos, they are still excellent. Plays great, frets are quiet. Original Gibson hard shell case is very good, just the lock has malfunctioned which is common for these. Also includes original owner’s manual and warrantee card!
I am not a store owner or in the business. I am an individual hopefully finding a good home for her with someone who appreciates owning her like I did. I’m simply downsizing. I am selling this guitar and accessories per my description and photographs "as is" with no guarantees or warranties implied or expressed.
Serious inquiries only. Please avoid tire-kicking over bridge not being original. This guitar is an absolute cream puff and I dare anyone to find a 36 yr old 175 in as good shape as this one. If you are looking for a beautiful & historic Gibson, you know this baby is worth the price once you play it.
