This vintage Washburn banjo, style 1102, is estimated to have been built in 1913. With its original calfskin head, the banjo boasts an old-timey, clawhammer sound that takes you back to the front porches of Appalachia, pre-both World Wars. The mother-of-pearl inlay on the neck is still pristine, making this piece a beautiful collectible, as well as a playing instrument. The original tuners on the headstock have been replaced with geared tuners, but the fifth-string peg is original.
The banjo comes with a hard shell case in very good condition.
