Rare Early-’60s “Super Ludwig” – Pre-Serial Era

This is a true gem from Ludwig’s golden years — an early-1960s Super Ludwig, built before the serial number era. A 10-lug, 5x14 chrome-over-brass powerhouse with outstanding craftsmanship and a commanding sound.

Condition: Exceptional for its age - this drum has been lovingly cared for and it shows. 100% original except for the heads.

Special Bonus: The head is signed by William F. Ludwig II himself! I purchased this beauty at a drum show about 25 years ago, and WFL II personally signed it — a unique piece of history included with this already rare drum. I did not add “value for the autograph. Just a bonus.

These pre serial 1960s Super Ludwigs are in demand and this one’s condition puts it in a league of its own. My price comes from reverb sales for these pre-serial Supers. If you disagree hit the offer button but only reasonable and substantiated offers will be entertained.

If you want an iconic, collector-grade Ludwig that delivers both history and huge tone, this is it.
