Boucher BG-42-GM

It is a bit incredible that I am selling this guitar, TBH. When I got this guitar I sold my Preston Thompson mahog dread because it could not hold a candle to this one. Amazing sound - everything you want a mahog dread to be. It was the guitar I took to play everywhere. So why am I selling it?

I have two BG -42 GM, but the most recent one includes the torrefied mahog back and sides and is about $2000 more in value. I have held onto this one for the last 6 months or so, trying to find a justification for keeping two of the same model guitar, but I am thinning my herd in order to finance a luthier shop and education, so I must break up the twins.

You can find specs at the Boucher site. I particularly love the blonde treatment of the back and sides, not using stain or dark filler on the finish makes this really unique in the world of mahogany dreads. I like it so much I am going to be doing the same treatment on a guitar I am currently working on.

The difference between this version and the torrefied mahog version? I would say the torrefied sounds a bit more open and older, and this one is a bit punchier. Wish I could keep it.

There is one little blivet to take note of, in the upper left shoulder region of the top is a bit of a dent. Picture above. Caused by an old girlfriend. Let's just say I kept the guitar.....😉

Has K&K pickup installed, and of course, standard HSC.
