The guitar is in like-new condition showing virtually no visible signs of use. Made in the USA. This Firebird Platypus features a 24 3/4” scale length, solid Mahogany “Reverse” Firebird body, white 3-ply pickguard with hot stamped a Firebird logo, equipped with its original pair of mini-humbucking pickups, neck pickup measures 7.07k ohms and the bridge pickup measures 7.06k ohms on the multimeter, each pickup has a dedicated volume and tone control, gold Top Hat knobs and an aluminum Nashville Tune-O-Matic stop tail bridge. The instrument features the traditional Firebird neck-through-body construction. The Mahogany neck features a Slim-Taper C-shape profile that measures .820” deep at the first fret and .930” deep at the twelfth fret. Width at the (Graph Tech) nut measures a full 1 11/16”. The bound Rosewood fingerboard features a 12” radius, pearl inlaid trapezoid fret markers and 22 medium jumbo frets. The frets show virtually no visible play wear. The neck is straight and plays beautifully. Notes ring clean and clear with no dead spots. The truss rod is accessible at the headstock, it turns smoothly in both directions and functions as intended. The “Platypus” style headstock features a standalone Gibson logo and Grover Mini Rotomatic tuning machines. The guitar weighs in at 8 lbs. 1 oz.
