The 2006 Gretsch G6120-1960 Nashville is a reissue of the classic 1960 Gretsch Chet Atkins Hollowbody model, renowned for its rockabilly style, vintage sound, and striking aesthetics. This professional collection guitar is known for its warm, resonant tone and playability, suitable for country, jazz, blues, and rockabilly genres.
Here we have an absolutely STUNNING and head turning, 2006 Gretsch 6120-1960 hollow-body electric guitar in mint, collector owned condition and perfect working order. It's a fairly rare model that hasn't been offered in a while, the 6120W features the mid-1950s Western appointments of the 6120 paired with Gretsch's classic Filter'Tron humbuckers. A reissue of the instrument that has defined the Gretsch sound for twang, Western Swing, Rockabilly, and all manner of other genres/niches, this 6120 accurately reproduces the electronics and exact build specs that made the original 6120 one of the most resonant, lively, and stunningly cool sounding instruments ever made. Produced by Gretsch in the years prior to their acquisition by Fender, this guitar boasts the high quality craftsmanship and exceptional fit and finish work associated with the company's factory in Japan.
Some of the finer points of this Gretsch include the 16" wide maple body with bound oversized F holes, two-piece maple neck, bound ebony fingerboard, gold plexi pickguard, gold-plated hardware, bound headstock with tiger maple veneer, and Bigsby B6C vibrato tailpiece. With laminated maple construction and sound post bracing, this guitar has a full, percussive, articulate voice when strummed acoustically that translates well through the Filter'Tron pickups. Plugged in, the guitar delivers clarity and fullness in all pickup positions, reproducing complex chord voicings with stunning ease. The guitar weighs 8lbs 4.4 oz's. This guitar has been professionally setup here at The Guitar Dude, with comfortable action, fresh 10-46 roundwound strings, and perfect intonation.
The two-piece maple neck has a C profile which is very comfortable and among the most easily navigable necks we’ve played. The original slender frets are clean, with some light wear, well rounded crowns and no buzzing or dead spots. The hand carved bone nut measures 1 5/8" in width, and unlike many later iterations of the 6120, this version has no zero fret, allowing the guitar to take full advantage of the articulation and sustain that a bone nut provides. The headstock boasts an inlaid pearloid Gretsch logo and horseshoe, as well as the aforementioned Grover-style tuners which show only light patina on the gold plating.
The body sports a striking Western Orange Stain finish, which highlights the nice figuring and beautiful grain in the maple and is quite a bit more saturated and ruddy than other versions of this finish. The finish is topped off with two-ply white/black binding and gold hardware which shows light, uniform surface patina across the Bigsby, G pointer knobs, and roller bridge. This particular bridge is one produced only briefly, offering excellent intonation and saddles that work smoothly with the Bigsby B6C vibrato tailpiece for surfy warbles and dives that add to the signature Gretsch sound. All of the electronics work as they should with the Filter'Trons wired to a three-way pickup selector, master volume control, individual volume controls for each pickup, and a master tone control. Cosmetically, the guitar has been very well cared for, showing only a few light scuffs and nicks on the entire body, mostly relegated to the back. The neck profile is also extremely clean. This G6120-1960 is a stunning example of one of Gretsch's most influential and enduring models. A deluxe hardshell case is included.

We record demo videos of every guitar before shipping to document exact condition and performance. Additional photos, measurements, or in-hand descriptions are available upon request prior to purchase.
Minor adjustments and tweaks to a set up (for example to correct a slight buzz or truss-rod tweak) are normal after shipping due to carrier mishandling the package, climate & atmospheric changes, especially when moving from South Florida to colder or less humid environments. These slight issues do not constitute “significantly not as described.” Guitars must be returned in the exact same condition as received/advertised or additional repair/restocking fees will apply.

If minor cosmetic marks, tiny imperfections, or the possibility of a post-shipping setup tweak makes you uncomfortable, please do not buy.
