Vintage 1967 Conn 10M Professional Tenor Saxophone w/Underslung Double Wall Neck, Adjusted, Great Player!

Vintage Conn 10M Tenor Saxophone with double wall, underslung octave key on neck. Early L serial number puts this horn at 1967.

This is a great horn! It just came back from being set up and serviced by a very well respected local sax/clarinet tech that recently retired from a nationally respected shop - I will provide those details to the buyer. He leveled everything and adjusted the horn. It’s playing great! Very smooth mechanism, not “clicky” at all, very fluid and quiet. Everything is sealing great and easy playing. The sax has a huge, warm, focused sound. Absolutely enormous sound. Altissimo has a great earthy quality with tons of control.

Pads look great and have lots of life in them. The F pad seems to have been replaced at some point, and is sealing well inline with everything else in the lower stack. Bumpers are excellent and have been refreshed as needed - no play in the keys. New neck cork.

The lacquer looks to be original and the engraving on the bell is clear. The lacquer is in great shape - I would say about 95% on the body and 75% on the neck. Only some

Minor scratching and wear from use on the body. Some light flaking and a larger spot of wear on the neck. The nickel silver plating on the keys is in good condition for the age - I would say 90%+ intact. There is some tarnish and wear on the palm and side keys, but otherwise looks great. The original rollers are intact and look great.

The body is straight and looks very, very good. No dents or major dings. Absolutely no evidence of past dental repair. There are a couple very small dings in the elbow that should be removable, if desired - I’ve tried to show these. There is no flattening or damage to the bow whatsoever. Very, very slight bend to the lip of the bell, almost imperceptible. The neck is likewise in great shape. There is some possible *very slight* pulling - I honestly cannot tell, but have tried to take clear photos. Some very tiny nicks in the area of lacquer wear. It looks like there may have been a small, very well done solder repair to one spot on the octave key - only on one side of the hinge rod (this may not be the case, the solder just looks a little thicker and I’m trying to be thorough). Absolutely no evidence of past solder repair on the body of the sax.

The sax comes with a leather covered wood, hardshell case. I don’t believe the case is original, it looks more 80s/90s to me, but you be the judge. The outside of the case looks good, showing fairly light wear. The inside shows more age/wear because of the shag style fabric. However, it is in good structural condition and protects the saxophone well.

This is an awesome pro horn. Would be great for a pro jazz musician, gigging sax player or woodwind doubler, or serious jazz student. Would also be a great horn for a collector/fan of ‘60s of 10ms.
