Gretsch Progressive Jazz 1960's - Champagne Sparkle

Gretsch and Jazz lovers, this is the Holy Grail of drums. Beautiful 1960's, unmolested, all original, unmodified, Gretsch Round badge, with the original beautiful Champagne Sparkle wrap. NO extra holes.

This is the "Progressive Jazz" model, 20, 12, 14. I have owned this kit for 30 years. It's amazing looking and sounding. These kits, in this color, in this condition, and all original, are getting harder and harder to find. Only the drum heads are not original to the kit. SKB cases (pictured) are included in the sale.

Bass drum 14X20

Batter side head is new, resonant side is not.

Typical chatter around hoops. They have never been repainted.

Seems are tight, no lift.

Pratt muffler is present and fully functional.

Rail mount is original

Tom "L" bracket cracked and I had this one custom made out of stainless for strength. An original could be purchased, but I wouldn't recommend it as they are prone to breaking and could lead to damaged of kick and tom.

Wrap on batter side has a small chip starting from the edge (pictured). However it is on the bottom of the drum (where it rests on the floor), and the drum head covers 85% of it, so it will not be seen. It was probably caused by putting on a tight drum head which is why I use Weather King Classics.

All in all, this is an amazing vintage progressive jazz survivor. I struggled with the sale of this kit as it is one of the best I have ever seen. It shows common wear of drums this age with no abuse or modifications on any of the shells. All bearing edges are original, unmodified (you can even see some of the silver paint on them).
