Other features

The DMZ series was introduced in 1978 and marked a shift towards DiMarzio pickups and roller-type nuts for Kramer's aluminum neck instruments.

The aluminum neck was a key feature, providing stability and sustain.

Wooden inserts in the neck were intended to mitigate the cold feel of the aluminum.

The DMZ 4001 replaced the earlier DMZ 4000 model around 1979.

Finishes included natural (often showcasing the wood grain) and black.

Often shipped with a hardshell case.
