I am offering a Gibson Hummingbird TV True Vintage HCS from 2008, a handcrafted at the Gibson Custom Shop in Bozeman, Montana (USA), limited edition of 167 pieces all solid timber luxury reissue version of the 1960 Gibson Hummingbird featurung the legendary Square Shoulder Dreadnought body design, resonant Sitka spruce top, back and sides made of warm-sounding mahogany, set-in mahogany neck with round neck profile and 43.8mm TUSQ nut, bound “AAA” Madagascar rosewood fingerboard (!) with shimmering mother-of-pearl parallelogram inlays, high-quality Gotoh Gold Keystone tuners in a beautifully graded Heritage Cherry Sunburst VOS high-gloss nitrocellulose finish with richly decorated Hummingbird Tortoise pickguard and multi-ply cream bindings in excellent condition, including black Gibson luxury hardshell case, manufacturer’s papers and professional setup with 12-gauge Elixir strings.

Limited to 167 pieces and crafted in the Custom Shop, this 2008 Gibson Hummingbird HCS from the True Vintage series carries on the legacy of the icon from Gibson’s Square Shoulder acoustic line. As a faithful vintage reissue of the short-scale Square Shoulder Dreadnought first released in 1960, it comprehensively incorporates all the specs that elevated the instrument to such legendary status. Thanks to its unique design and wide dynamic range with warm mids and powerful bass, it continues to inspire musicians around the world to this day.

Like the original from the 1960s, this True Vintage version features a solid mahogany back and sides, as well as a solid Sitka spruce top, which, thanks to the scalloped X-bracing, provides ample space for its resonance. In this limited edition, the guitar features an authentic VOS finish. The bound fingerboard, crafted from richly grained “AAA” Madagascar rosewood, is adorned with intricate parallelogram-shaped mother-of-pearl inlays, and the set mahogany neck boasts a comfortable, medium-width round neck profile.

The fantastic woods and high-quality craftsmanship of the Gibson Custom Shop Bozeman workshop produce a wonderfully warm and exceptionally powerful sound, in which the mids and lively bass tones are particularly well-defined. The voluminous body also ensures beautiful projection and a balanced, warm tone with a subtle yet dynamic range of timbres—ideal for any type of accompaniment, strumming, and picking!

This Gibson Hummingbird TV True Vintage was produced in a limited edition of only 167 pieces in 2008 and is correspondingly rare.

This Gibson Hummingbird is in excellent condition and technically flawless. Visually, it shows only occasional superficial wear (see photos). The frets are in top condition.
