Thank you for taking the time to inquire into this stunning snare. This drum is like new, and is absolutely stunning—both sonically and visually. It is a studio queen. I used it only for one recording session, and so it is now time to sell it so it can go to a good home and not simply collect dust in my studio. I have kept this drum only in an air conditioned, smoke free home studio environment, and to that extent, I have never gigged it.

This snare is a 12 ply 15mm thick hybrid shell composed of 8 interior plies of maple sandwiched between 2 inner and 2 exterior plies of gum. I specifically chose this snare because the shell type perfectly balances tone and projection: it’s thick enough to cut through a mix yet thin enough to still provide warmth, tone, and resonance. Additionally, the 42 strand wires give the instrument exceptional sensitivity and a natural reverb. The bearing edges are clean and sharp, and the chrome is bright and smooth (no pitting). The strainer mechanism is buttery smooth and arguably Pearl’s best (I like it better than my Reference mechanism). The drum will ship with the pictured lightly used Remo Controlled Sound head.
