I have decided to list the most ridiculous amp I own even though I don't really want to sell it.

What I have here is one of the first 50 Bass 400+ amplifiers ever made. According to Mesa the serial numbers for these amps start at B1200 and this one is B1242.

It is the 6 band EQ version of course and it has been tastefully modified with each pair of tubes now having a bias pot. This modification is necessary unless you want to hunt down 12 exact matched tubes to this amp. With this modification I decided to run Tung Sol 7581A tubes in place of the standard MESA 6L6GC's. At this time the entire amplifier was re capped which I have added pictures of from my amp guy.

This amplifier is incredibly loud pushing 330+ watts at <3.5% distortion on the oscilloscope . It is an absolute bone crushing monster of a machine. By far the loudest amplifier I have ever used in my life. I don't even bother using pedals at all because it is so crisp and clear and loud that it needs no assistance.

I cannot say enough good things about this amp. It is an absolute monster. A true real life SVT killer even though it will also kill your back at about 75lbs with the ORIGINAL SUS rack case.

The only thing that does not work are the balanced output and the slave output. My amp tech and I decided to disconnect those outputs as they were the source of some internal humming and disabling them completely silenced the amp otherwise. You can choose to have these reconnected if you wish as all wiring and sockets were left in place.

This amp is still quite special and special to me and is a fantastic piece of equipment so I won't let it go cheap, I do not have to sell it. It does weigh 75+lbs so shipping it won't be cheap and I have set the price at $250. Message me if you live close to me and we can discuss it. For the West Coast I have to insist on the $250.
