Carl Barney started building guitars in the 1960's along with a group of New York / New England builders that help define the "Archtop" guitar ... like DAngelico, D'Aquisto, Monteleone and others. Barney has built guitars for many outstanding jazz players including Bucky Pizzarelli, Mundell Lowe, Sal Salvador, Tony Lombardozzi and Ben Sher.
This guitar is an carved 16" archtop that he built in 1975, serial number 11. It is in very good condition. There are normal wear marks from it's 41 year life span. The natural beauty of the woods is stunning. Installed on the guitar is a humbucker style pickup which is perfect for this purpose. The guitar has a 1/4 inch cable socket underneath the guitar. Please note two minor imperfections in the picture.
