While not well known as a ukulele builder, David Newton's guitars are highly prized among Bluegrass players. The Diaz is part of a series based on early Hawaiian instruments incorporating contemporary features such as precision tuners. This is truly a handmade instrument from a Master Luthier. Select Mahogany, one piece neck, all tight joints and no structural issues.
My tech skills aren't such that I can get a video loaded; unfortunate because that would tell its story better than I can. It has a very strong presence but with a sweet mahogany voice. Please look at some of the YouTube videos of David's stunning guitars.
The fretboard at the body has a rough area, I'm not sure why. There are subtle strumming fingernail marks on the top.
Scale is 14-3/4". 5-1/8" upper bout. 6-5/8" lower bout.
Hard shell case; I'll take my stickers off if you'd prefer.
