A 1986 Tokai Custom Edition Stratocaster SJ503, often referred to as a "Superstrat" or "oldies but goodies" model, is a Japanese-made electric guitar known for its quality and features that are similar to Fender Stratocasters. The SJ503 use a "Floyd Rose Licensed" Ayers Rocker V Tremolo and L White pickups as stock (the tremolo and pickups alone retailed for nearly $400USD in the 80's).
L White pickups: "Tokai original pickup that was used on Tokai guitars from the 1980s to the 90s. Developed by thoroughly researching and analyzing vintage pickups and optimizing them for Tokai guitars. In order to maintain the quality by adopting OFC (oxygen-free copper) for the coil wire, a luxurious pickup hand-wound by a veteran craftsman one by one in Tokai factory. In terms of sound, it has a warm clean tone that matches the tube amp, and a crunch sound that withers moderately when the volume is raised, and it is said that there is still a sound that can only be produced with this pickup.
This guitar shows some wear to the finish, but nothing major. Comes with pictured hardcase.
Made in Japan: These guitars are known for their high-quality craftsmanship, typical of Japanese-made instruments from the era.
