Vintage 1966 Gretsch 6119 Tennessean Electric Guitar Husk Project w/ Original Hardshell Case!

Up for sale is this vintage 1966 Gretsch 6119 Tennessean electric guitar husk project. This instrument will require parts and work to be playable, so please be sure to read the entire description and see all of the photos. This one is offered "AS IS".

This listing includes the body and neck, truss rod cover (shrinking), the original pickguard (cracked and repaired), nut, and the original pickup surrounds (some cracking around the edges). No other parts are included, what you see is what you get.

This one suffers from the same binding rot that most Gretsch instruments from this era are afflicted with and, although it's not beautiful, it seems to have been stabilized at some point and is not flaking all that badly. The original frets show wear and, while the truss rod does function, it does not have any effect past around the 9th fret where the neck has some relief in it so it's safe to say that it will need to be addressed. The neck heel is also pulling a bit (pictured) and there is a separation down the length of the center seam (pictured).

Cosmetically, the instrument is in good condition but does show typical wear including numerous dings, scuffs, and scratches. There is some flaking finish on the headstock (pictured) and an area where the bridge has taken some finish with it when it was removed (pictured). We can find no cracks, breaks, or other repairs.

The original Gretsch hardshell case is included and is in nice condition for its age although it does show expected wear. The handle as well as all of the latches and hinges are present although the lock latch needs a little help to open and close.

Overall, this one is a great piece for someone in the know or someone that wants to deep dive into the heavier side of repair work. It's going to take some love and some heavy lifting, but we have no doubt that this one can sing once more. These generally sell quick, so don't miss out...
