RE: Current production ash/rosewood Stratocaster replica
George,
My condolences regarding you and your family’s loss.
For background, I own and serve as guitar builder, repairer and restorer at The Fret Shack in Baton Rouge since 2015. I have also bought, sold, traded and appraised used and vintage fretted instruments for nearly 40 years.
I personally inspected your Fender Stratocaster replica. The body, manufacturer unknown but suspected to be Fujigen in Japan, is high quality two-piece center-seam swamp ash with a transparent blonde polyester finish. The neck, manufacturer unknown but suspected to be Fujigen in Japan, is high quality maple with rosewood fingerboard, Dunlop 6105 frets, 10 inch radius. Pickups are a mix of Dimarzio HS-2 and HS-3 stacked (noiseless) single coils. All other electronics and hardware are top shelf quality. HSC is a higher-end tweed akin to what you see with high-end Fender USA guitars.
