I've had this in my collection of stringed instruments for about 20 years now. It has 16 strings but is missing one string. It has all 16 of the Little triangle movable frets. It has intricate carvings on the sides and has a nice hard shell case with a silk cover. I believe it is called a zither and it is of Chinese origin I could be wrong but that's what I was told. It has a very unique sound when the strings are plucked, you can also use a kind of a hammer to strike the strings which I don't have.
