Malibu Bay Modular 41W Mini Eurorack USB-C Power Supply and Bus Board (Busboard)

This listing is for a Malibu Bay Modular mini Eurorack USB-C power supply and distribution board. It accepts USB-C power from a charger that is able to provide 20 V at 2.25A. The power supply provides 2 A for +12 V, 600 mV for the -12 V rail, and 2 A for 5V. It has 10 shrouded connectors. It is meant for a portable Eurorack case and can fit within one as small as 18 HP wide.

Important Note: This power board has a controller that negotiates with the power supply to provide power at 20 volts and a specific current. Check if your USB-C charger or power bank is rated for at least 45 W and can supply 20 volts at 2.25 amps of current. If you have a 65 W charger that can supply 20 volts at 3.25 amps of current, the board can be configured to establish the higher current output to give the overall power system more head room.

This listing only includes the 18XL power board, any other items shown in the photos are for demonstration purposes.

The board is designed to be able to split it in two with a saw and uses JST PH 2.0 4-pin connectors to be able to extend the length of row coverage. If you decide to do this, be aware that the edges will have +/- 12 V and 5 V on the edges and take measures to ensure they don't short internally or externally with conductive parts.

AC Adapter / Charger

The listing does not include a the AC Adapter. If you need an example of a compact charger to use with the board, take a look at the Anker 713 45 W or 65 W 715 Nano II series chargers. Also look out for 65 W USB-C laptop chargers made by HP or other manufacturers.

Additional Notes and Information

Please use caution when installing the board and avoid direct contact with conductive parts and liquids. Keep circuit loads under the maximum specifications and check the current requirements of connected equipment. If loads have high inrush requirements, they may need soft start power adapters to work with the power board. The board has been stress tested with ~104 hp of random Eurorack modules including a Mordax Data using the +5 V rail in open air at ~75°F.
