I am offering a Gibson LG-0 from 1966, a still handcrafted in Kalamazoo, Michigan (USA), all solid vintage acoustic guitar with handy 14-fret 00 design, resonant mahogany top over ladder bracing, back and sides also made of mahogany, set-in mahogany neck with slim neck profile and 39.6mm nut width, elegant rosewood fingerboard with shimmering mother-of-pearl dot inlays, short 628 mm scale length and vintage strap button tuners in an authentically aged natural high-gloss nitrocellulose finish with bolt-on red transparent pickguard and tortoise bindings in great condition with black luxury hardshell case and professional setup with 11-gauge Elixir strings.

The Gibson LG-0 was first introduced by Gibson in 1951 and marketed as a simple entry-level model for students. However, this does not mean that it is not a high-quality Gibson acoustic guitar – on the contrary: the workmanship is excellent and with the small, handy 00 body and the shortened 625 mm scale length, the guitar is immediately fun to play.

The widespread availability of high-quality tonewoods in the 1960s also helped this guitar to feature a top and body made from beautiful mahogany, which has established itself tonally over the past six decades and reveals a warm, woody sound. The guitar literally sings with focused mids and has a balanced sound character with decent volume and punch. This makes it ideal for folk, blues, and any kind of fingerpicking.

A sound sample of this model can be found above at the end of the photo gallery.

The medium-width “C” neck profile, combined with the 39.6mm nut width and low string action, allows for easy playability despite its age.

Truly a beautifully crafted vintage Gibson USA acoustic guitar that offers everything and is affordable without having to pawn your car.

This 1966 Gibson LG-0 is in beautiful condition and works perfectly. The original plastic bridge has been professionally replaced with a wooden bridge over the decades, as is common with this model. The guitar has been played a lot and has therefore developed an authentic vintage patina (see pictures). The guitar is free of cracks and the frets are still in very good condition.

The instrument has been professionally set up with 11-gauge Elixir 80/20 strings and I (a long-time guitar teacher) will ship it fully insured with DHL for €29.99 within Germany ore 69.99 within the EU. Worldwide shipping available – individual shipping costs upon request.

All pictures shown are of the instrument actually for sale.
