I’m selling my Tascam 52 half-track recorder. It was recently overhauled and brought up to spec by Adrian Pro Audio - see the attached receipt. It is set for IEC EQ, so it can also be used to play back new tapes from the Tape Project and others. Now, this recorder does indeed meet spec, and is ready to go for some years to come. This model has 3 direct drive motors, and has the mic preamps (most model 52’s I’ve seen do not have the mic inputs). This is a superior transport to the Tascam BR-20. Electrically and mechanically, this recorder is in excellent condition. And the exterior is in very good condition, with a few scratches here and there (see photos). This one of the nicest 52s I’ve seen. Includes NAB hub adapters and a take-up reel.
It's heavy, so I much prefer local pickup. Sold as is.
