Silvertone 3070 R2R Power Amp Section w/ tubes and speaker 1954

Complete power amp section from a SILVERTONE 3070 tube reel to reel with tubes from about 1954. The unit was powered up prior to being taken apart; due to reel/transport/record section issues it could not be fully tested but did pass signal. It's in good physical condition; being sold as is for parts or repair. Solid project candidate. The chassis number is 567-34000.

It is a complete power amp section. The wire coming from the tape head block was cut and the motor power cables were cut; otherwise complete. I labeled both of those on the chassis so you'll know right out of the gate what went where. The speaker is in great condition, cone is excellent, pressing feels good and slightly firm with no coil rub. The tubes: 6V6GT, 6X5G, 12AX7, 5879 all USA RCA three of which have matching 4-48 date codes; the 5879 labeling isn't completely legible but looks 60's. The tubes tested good at better than 80% overall quality except the 5879 which I do not have on my tube chart. Don't see that one very often. My feeling is that the 5879 is likely good as well. Not saying you'll use these tubes forever but you might and/or it's pretty good place to start. Info on these recorders is easy to find but I will include a hand written tube chart. Tubes will be wrapped separately for shipping; not placed in the sockets. The chassis measures 10 3/4" wide and 6" deep; small footprint.

I included the original wrap around grill cover as much to protect the speaker as anything. The last picture is of the top panel of the original recorder to give you an idea of in/outs and controls. That picture is for reference only and is NOT included. The original 2-pin power cable is not shown but is included. It's pretty shot; dry rot, cracking, crumbling. I used a substitute cable when I powered it up.
