Martin Johnny Cash D-42 1996 - Black lacquer

Martin Johnny Cash D-42 Signature model of the legendary "Man in Black". 200 pieces were to be built, but only 80 were finally completed. This guitar is in great condition. it does have a scratch by the sound hole as shown in the last picture. Each model is hand-signed by Johnny Cash, which makes these guitars very sought-after collector's items. Like all Johnny Cash Signature models this JC D-42 is of course painted completely black. It has a spruce top and East Indian Rosewood sides and back. The bottom is made of three parts. Very distinctive are the abalone trim and stars in the ebony fretboard inlays with Johnny's signature between 19 and 20th fret. The sound of this guitar is very pleasing all along the line. Incredibly wide frequency spectrum, very full and open sound, almost like a piano. Plays great and is first choice for collectors and players. It is set up for 11 to 52 D'Addario custom light strings. tuned 1/2 a step down. This guitar is also listed locally.
