In 1999 and 2000 Fender‘s Custom Shop produced a limited edition series of guitars with NHL team logos prominently displayed. They were ordered through and built by the custom shop in the USA. Each team was to be limited to maximum production of 100. Fender does not have records of how many were built for each team. While I have seen listings claiming that there was only one made for a specific team, I have no idea how they verified that detail as Fender will not. At one point I saw a guitar from one NHL team that was numbered in the twenties, but that is the highest production number I have ever seen. This was not a hugely successful custom offering from Fender, but that honestly makes them more rare and collectible at this point. These are special guitars and each is a very limited edition item.
This guitar was built in May of 2000. It is #17 (no idea how many were actually produced but the limit was 100 for each team). I bought this guitar new, have been the only owner, and it has spent the vast majority of its life in the case. Hence, it is in mint condition. I just had it refreshed and set up by Chris at Guitar Recovery in Carmel IN. There is no damage, dings, or scratches that I can post.
First, this is an American made limited edition telecaster. You get all which that implies. Then add the rarity element (and, I’m assuming you’re likely a Dallas Stars fan) and you end up with a quite a collectors piece. Included is a hard shell case that has a few scratches but is in excellent operational condition.
The list price on these was $2499.00
