Thank you for looking at this listing.
I am the original owner of this "Custom Shop ’66 Fender Stratocaster". This was a special Limited Edition Deluxe Closet Classic model available for one year only, from Fender’s Time Machine series.
Features:
- Two-piece select alder body
- Hand Wound (marked ‘HW’) Custom Shop grey bottom ’65 pickups, matched "6-13-22" date-coded set original to this specific guitar. Middle pickup is Reverse Wound, Reverse Polarity as stated in the Floor Traveler document.
- Vintage Modified #2 wiring and Tone-Saver bleed circuit to roll some highs off bridge pickup if desired.
- Quartersawn maple neck with a 1966 "oval C" profile.
- 1966 period correct large headstock and Fender logo.
- 9.5 inch radius, round-laminated rosewood fingerboard
- 21 medium 6150 frets
- Fender Custom Shop hard shell case
- Original Certificate of Authenticity (COA), Shop Floor Traveler document, tremolo bar, ashtray, strap and case candy. All the good stuff.
Features a Deluxe Closet Classic lacquer finish with light finish checking and a few dings to give it the look and feel of a guitar that's been kept in premium condition over the years then parked under a bed. Back of the neck has lacquer gently removed by Custom Shop as part of the original Deluxe Closet Classic specification for this limited edition run. So this instrument is as "mint" condition as a factory Closet Classic can be - no new or additional wear, dings or scratches beyond what Custom Shop put there on day one.
Has the six point, Custom Shop vintage synchronized tremolo, vintage-style tuning machines, and a genuine bone nut. No modifications, very low total playing time since I bought it new. Please note this guitar is a Closet Classic so it does have light lacquer checking and a few minor Custom Shop dings and aging.
Please review all indoor and outdoor photos to show guitar in different lighting, which are part of the description.
Note 1: Please ask any and all questions before purchasing – I am a musician not a dealer and want you to be happy with this guitar as I have been. Glad to answer any questions, provide additional photos or otherwise help you be sure this is the right guitar for you.
Note 2: Willing to trade up or down for an original Willcutt “The 63” Stratocaster in sunburst.
