The Grey DOD 250 is the one most associated with Yngwie prior to the release of the 308. Some folks who want that Malmsteen sound pay over $800 for the original pedal. And guess what? That expensive used pedal does not come with an LED, true bypass, or a standard 9 volt power jack.

Other than the paint job, our modified DOD 250 and and YJM308 pedals are identical. This one comes with the Grey Mod: 741 op amp, four traces cut, signals re-routed, C1 to .056uf, C3 to .01uf, and C2 is removed.  

But we didn’t stop at the Grey mod. We also replaced the footswitch in this pedal and re-wired it for true bypass. We also drilled and installed a water clear, Yellow LED. I think it matches nicely, do you? We also replaced that silly pin power jack with a standard 9 volt power jack!

This is the "grey mod" which gives you the sound of the classic DOD 250 but at a fraction of the price. If you are serious about good tone, then Mike is the man to help you get there. Other equipment is a 71 vintage white strat with YJM SD pickups and the YJM100 head. Boss noise suppressor and Ernie Ball 10-46 cobalt strings. Recorded with my cheap phone...but the real tone is immense!!

Hey there Mike! I'm sorry it took so long to get back to you about the modified pedal I bought a while back. I finally got my power supply today and WOW, brace yourself for some epic feedback. The modification you made to this pedal is absolutely stunning!! I've heard samples of a standard DOD 250, and liked how smooth it is, but your mod gave me a much cleaner boost with less static and perpetually improved my signature tone! This pedal is a killer addition to my rig and I'm never leaving home without it. I can't begin to explain my gratitude for your awesome work on this pedal. If I ever need any work done on my other pedals, I'm grabbing your business card faster that Yngwie Malmsteen can shred a set of Phrygian arpeggios!
