Teac A-4010S 4-head R2R Auto-Reverse 2-track 1/4" 7" reel to reel recorder tape deck player 1970s A4010S - stained wood and stainless steel

I've done the following to this deck:

capstan belt replaced

all 3 motors and capstan bearing oiled according to service manual

compliance arm and compliance switch bearings freed and lubricated, spring adjusted

pinch roller arm bearing freed and lubricated

I've finished my archiving project with it, so I'm ready to let it go. It's very heavy, and I'll pack it well. Unfortunately, that means shipping costs are high.

Great:

electronic start/stop in both directions

auto shutoff

both speeds

audio quality in both channels

fast forward in both directions

VU meters, power light, VU lights

Right channel recording

problems:

pots have not been cleaned, so light crackle is audible during adjustments. No dead spots, though.

Replacement power cord

Record only works with right channel. I think it's a dirty switch contact on the left channel button which is held down in order to initiate recording. I've marked the price down accordingly, but I'll fix it if this remains unsold at the reduced price and I get some more time to play around with the record function. Perfect deck for listening, though.
