Up for your perusal, viewing pleasure, and certain consumption we have a Jazz Bass that's sweeter than a Cadbury Creme Egg. When Leo Fender came up with the Jazz Bass he was totally unaware what a hit the instrument would be in the world of rock and roll. The instrument took popular music by storm and has graced 1000s of recordings in rock, blues, reggae and jazz genres since it's introduction over 60 years ago! The Made in Japan Heritage is a series that pursues the supreme playing experience that vintage musical instruments give to players. It is packed with specs that attract vintage fans, and was adopted under the supervision of Mark Kendrick, who has made a name for himself as a master builder at the Fender Custom Shop and boasts a deep knowledge of vintage instruments. All models in the Heritage series are designed based on USA product profiling data, and body shapes and neck shapes are also adopted according to the age. It inherits the orthodox lineage of Fender in every detail, such as the cross-wire pickup, pickup settings and tones, and body color reproducibility. Made in Japan Heritage '70s Jazz Bass® has a gloss finish on the ash body. All the specifications that make up this product, including a 7.25-inch radius 1975 "U" shaped maple neck with 20 vintage-style frets, a 4-saddle vintage-style bridge, and pickups specially selected for the Heritage series. Has been meticulously crafted for classic playability and sweet vintage tones. Experience the unique playability and tasteful tone of Fender, which has captivated many great musicians, in the Heritage series.
This piece is in full bloom with killer weight, stunning good looks, superior tone and rocking' playability all on stunning display. Fender gets these right every time and this one is no exception, the attention to detail is remarkable and literally will take your breath away. The bass is extremely well balanced and super comfortable, with smooth low action and precise intonation for a luxury ride. Plugged into our Fender Bassman the bass exhibits classic, vintage-voiced tones with rich, buttery lows, a smoky and distinct midrange, and clear, articulate top end. The instrument is meticulously crafted with hardware, body carve, electronics, neck profile and radii all adhering to precise vintage specification. Cosmetically the instrument is in ultra-clean, near perfect condition with no discernible play wear, handling marks, or defects. If you have been hankering for a killer Fender bass or if you simply have a yen for something beautiful and darn near perfect in every single way, this piece of Jazz Bass goodness will have Peter Cottontail grooving down the bunny trail.
This guitar has been professionally set up and dialed in for optimal tone and playability. Return Policy, Restocking Fees & No Tire-Kicking Policy
We follow Reverb’s 7-day return policy. However:
- You must notify us in writing within 3 days of delivery (per tracking) of your intent to return.
- Original shipping and return shipping costs are not refunded unless the guitar is damaged in transit or is significantly not as described.
- A 15% restocking fee applies to all returns for any reason other than damage in transit or significantly not as described.
We record demo videos of every guitar before shipping to document exact condition and performance. Additional photos, measurements, or in-hand descriptions are available upon request prior to purchase.
Minor adjustments and tweaks to a set up (for example to correct a slight buzz or truss-rod tweak) are normal after shipping due to carrier mishandling the package, climate & atmospheric changes, especially when moving from South Florida to colder or less humid environments. These slight issues do not constitute “significantly not as described.” Guitars must be returned in the exact same condition as received/advertised or additional repair/restocking fees will apply.
We are a small business, not a big-chain retailer. We invest significant time and effort into every guitar. This is a NO TIRE-KICKING shop. There is no post purchase haggling or partial refunds. If minor cosmetic marks, tiny imperfections, or the possibility of a post-shipping setup tweak makes you uncomfortable, please do not buy. Plenty of large retailers offer free trials and can absorb shipping costs—we do not.
