About

Realistic Electret Condenser Microphone, powered by a 1.5V LR1 type alkaline battery (NOT INCLUDED). It has an ON/OFF switch on the lower portion of the body where the audio cable is permanently affixed, terminating in a 1/4" mono phone jack. It has its original plastic desktop stand that fits on the upper portion of the microphone so that it sits at an upward angle to capture sound. This is a great microphone to capture ambient sounds, with a full low end and crisp top end, and very clean signal with no audible self-noise in the signal path.

If using for voice in a proximal setting, be sure to use a pop filter as the condenser element is sensitive to plosives. If recording general room ambient sounds, no windscreen is necessary.

This decades old microphone originally paired with the ADC Sound Shaper Real Time Analyzer, this microphone was meant to capture sound and show a graphical frequency depiction across the spectrum, particularly for measuring pink noise, but has a respectable sound reproduction for any imaginable creative recording purposes. At the very least, it can be described as a pencil microphone adequate for use with a tape recorder that accepts 1/4” phono plug(s) for a mic input.

You can record instruments with this microphone and process the sounds using EQ and compression to desired results, anything from acoustic guitars up close or further away room reflections for a great mono drum room.
