In great shape this Conn The Libertn C Melody Saxophone / III9954 C / W 552 L for sale.

Has scratches and maybe a small dent or two but this does not affect the sound or playability.

The NY Conn Co sold Conns but also budget line horns, like this one. W by the serial usually meant it was intended for Wurlitzer but they appear under many names.

C.G. Conn is an American instrument manufacturer that has been producing saxophones for over 100 years. Conn saxophones are known for their quality construction, design, and warm sound. Some say that vintage Conn saxophones are the "instrument of choice" for top professionals today, and many of their innovations are still used in saxophones made by other manufacturers.
Conn saxophones from the late 1920s were considered the standard of excellence for the period, and often featured custom engraving and various finishes.

A  HISTORY OF  EXCELLENCE  AND  INNOVATION

For over one hundred years, the name Conn has meant the very finest in American-made saxophones. The legendary models of the earlier part of the twentieth century are among the most prized and sought after among collectors and performers alike. As a tribute to the quality of construction and design, vintage Conn saxophones are often seen today in the hands of top professionals as the “instrument of choice”, and many of the innovations first pioneered by the Conn company are found on instruments produced today by manufacturers around the world.

The C Melody saxophone is a unique single-reed woodwind instrument that sits between the alto and tenor saxophones. It plays in concert pitch, meaning that when you play a C, it sounds like a concert C, making it easier to play from music written for other instruments like piano or flute without needing to transpose.

Historically, the C Melody saxophone was popular in the early 20th century, particularly between 1914 and 1930, but it has largely fallen out of use since its heyday. However, there are signs of a mini revival, with new models being manufactured for the first time in many years.
