In the Classic Era of American Mandolins, there was only one example of a Lloyd Loar Master Model ever created in the traditional A-style shape. Originally custom ordered as part of a matching set that included an F-shaped instrument, this legendary A-model had a longer neck than other A-style instruments of the time, joining the body at the 15th fret, had traditional F-shaped sound ports, and a Snakehead-shaped peghead. Even the finish, choice of woods, and fittings were identical to the matching F-style in the set.
