This is our hand built clone of the Hermida Dover Drive and we have added an external bias control. The Dover Drive is a wonderful circuit that was designed to emulate the BK Butler and Chandler Tube Driver pedals, made famous by the likes of David Gilmore and Eric Johnson, but the Dover drive uses op-amps rather than an actual tube, and it does perform much like its tube predecessors.
Controls are very straightforward, Volume, Gain, and Tone; and Bias. We moved the internal bias trim pot outside the pedal for more versatility- this can be adjusted for a more sharp attack, more gated, and a more ”spitty” fuzz sound, and as you increase the pot it smooths out with more decay and sustain.
This circuit uses BAT46 diodes which are no longer in production, but we have secured stock to keep building these true to the original, for some time.
Every pedal is hand built here in the U.S. by me, using high quality capacitors, metal film resistors, and a pro grade foot switch, for years of trouble free use. Every pedal is bench tested prior to shipping. Satisfaction guaranteed.
