1973 Gibson Les Paul Recording w/original yellow-lined case

Howdy. Up for sale is a nice 1973 Gibson Les Paul Recording guitar. These are pretty cool guitars that are underrated. They have a lot of interesting features and you can get some different sounds out of them.

This one is original except for repro strap buttons. It has nickel Grovers with rounded buttons that look original to the guitar. There are no breaks or mods.

I tend to list guitar here as "good" condition. In the old days you would call this very good condition. This is a guitar that was used a good bit but cared for. It has belt buckle marks on a lot of the back and some scratches, nicks and dings. The hardware looks like it is still in good condition.

The frets have some wear but not a whole lot. The fingerboard is not gouged from use.

I saw a date code on one of the pots that looks like "73" for 1973. I thought the guitar was a little earlier since it has the yellow lined case. These cases are apparently pretty rare. This is an Ess and Ess case with the heavy grain tolex. That covering is more common in the earlier 60's. The other cases that I seen with the yellow lining for this model are Victoria.

This guitar is mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard. The weight is about 9.8 pounds.

The neck has normal relief and the truss rod works.

These guitars have the 70's profile neck which is rounded and a little thinner towards the headstock.

Sold as described no returns, Of course if there is some egregious oversight or omission on my part you can always go through Reverb. So far everyone is happy.

Shipping is $100 in the US and $250 to many countries.
