This guitar is gorgeous! It sounds and feels so delicate like leaves gently falling, it’s a beautiful songwriting guitar with a ton of songs in it. Tons of vibes and feelings inside this one!

Framus was the sound of so many classic recordings, especially by European artists early in their careers before they got their big money. Bowie, The Who, The Beatles, Jimmy Page, The Kinks, The Stones, Mark Knopfler, Steve Howe, there’s super fresh-faced pictures of them in the studio and on stage with Framus guitars that were made in Germany in the 50’s and 60’s. Later when they got their big cheddar money they all got Gibsons and Fenders and Martins, but I swear that the early recordings (especially Bowie’s) have that beautiful Framus jangle that is all they’re own thing. They record amazingly, very naturally compressed and they sit perfectly in the harmonic range with anything else in the tracks. Lots of acoustics can have a hard time finding their place in a busy mix, but these European guitars have a special magic to them. I think the lamination of the materials has a naturally compressed resonance to them, and this one with the bowl back gives it a hyper-amplified volume and power for it’s size! Delicate fingerpicking still has tons of volume, it’s a gorgeous guitar through and through.

Parlor guitars are awesome. They record and sit in the mix so beautifully. They have a shimmering mid range that shines under studio mics, and they don’t compete with other instruments like the bass-heaviness of a Dreadnaught can when they’re stacked together. They occupy their own sonic space and play together well with other instruments.

As an instrument, I love the way this one feels through and through. You couldn’t ask for a straighter neck, the frets are in great shape, and the action is totally do-able in the folk positions that you would want this guitar for. Action gets a little more challenging as you advance up the neck, but nothing is totally off limits and it's overall a very happy guitar with a very delicate touch and shimmering sound. With the smaller body it’s an awesome guitar to play standing up with a strap, it would be a great frontperson’s guitar with tons of style to lead a band. It feels instantly comfortable, I can’t say enough good things about it. Great guitar!
