Vintage 1950 Martin D-28 in excellent condition
- Wide Grained Adirondack Spruce Top
- Straight-grained Brazilian Rosewood back and sides
This 1950's era Martin D-28 came to us with the seller knowing very little about its history. After the original owner passed away, their family discovered the Martin D-28 while cleaning out the deceased's house. When it arrived at our shop, the bridge and pickguard were off cleanly, and it had no strings with very little playing wear.
We had the opportunity to take it to Veteran Luthier John Jozwiak, who has over 32 years of experience working on vintage Martins. The bridge thickness was 1/2" thick; the thickest John has ever seen on a vintage Martin. John determined that the neck angle was correct and reprofiled the bridge regluing it along with the pickguard. Additionally, the saddle was replaced along with the bridge pins. There are no cracks in the body.
