YAMAHA SG-175 Red 1976 " Santana " 70’s YAMAHA Original HardCase
★Ultra-rare guitar!!★

【 About This item and Sound 】
Ultra-rare legendary Yamaha: SG-175 Red. Wonderful true vintage flair.
The SG-175 is a treasure of Japanese-made guitars, the originator of the YAMAHA SG model that fascinated the famous guitarist Carlos Santana and continues to this day.
This SG-175 was owned by a famous YAMAHA SG collector in Japan, so it has been very carefully preserved and the original bridge is still there.

Honduras mahogany body and neck, body trim and position marks in Mexico avalon shell, ivory bridge saddle, The use of Grover 102G tuners and other extravagant specs that are impossible to reproduce today.
The body and neck resonate well, and the sound is well-balanced and delicate even when played without plugging into an amplifier. It is then that you realize that YAMAHA is one of the best acoustic guitar makers in Japan.
When plugged in, the YAMAHA original #3164A Alnico Humbucker produces a powerful but clearly contoured and sustained sound. The sound is free of any grating treble, and the glossy, extended sustain is probably due to the use of all-Honduras mahogany wood. Its sound is sometimes acoustic, sometimes "Black Magic". It sounds great in any position, rear or front.
The bold W-cutaway body and ebony fingerboard enhance the playability in the high position. The low, wide frets could be called a Fretless Wonder.
The Mexico Avalon shell inlays on the position marks and body trim are truly gorgeous, chic, and elegant.

Carlos Santana played an SG-175 Red on stage in December 1974. He loved the sound of that guitar and ordered a "SG-175 Budda" from YAMAHA.

【 About  YAMAHA, SG-175
YAMAHA was founded in 1887 as Nippon Gakki Co,Ltd brand.
The first electric guitar was sold in 1966. A number of series of solid electric guitars, named “SG” after the initial letters of the word, are released.
The company pursues design and playability based on the belief of "Building original guitars that can be used around the world".
In 1974, the SG-175, the top-of-the-line SG model, is released. This set-neck guitar was made of Honduran mahogany for the body and neck. The model featured body trim and position marks made of Mexican Avalon shell.

When Carlos Santana visited Japan in 1974, he fell in love with the sound and used a commercial SG-175 Red at a concert in December, followed by several SG-175s.

The SG-175 was manufactured for only a year and a half, from November 1974 to June 1976, and the total production is said to be about 600 pieces, making it an ultra-rare guitar.
